Testimonials

Parents say,

“I honestly cannot say enough good things about Lauren as a teacher. She has a natural gift for engaging her students in a way that facilitates academic growth while encouraging social-emotional development…My daughter was only with her for a few short weeks but Lauren made such a positive impression. Even more than a year later my child has vivid memories of Lauren and the fun that she experienced participating in Lauren’s small group of future leaders.”

"Our 5-year-old loved working with Lauren in a small group online setting during the summer of 2020. We were concerned that our son wouldn't adapt to the online environment well, but Lauren was able to draw him and the other kids out for a fun and educational time. It also helped significantly in preparing him for the school year where he excelled in the online environment. We believe that this was in part due to Lauren's wonderful job acclimatizing him to learn in a positive online environment. They did wonderful games together that integrated early reading skills and math, and we would happily work with Lauren again in the future."

"Re-entering school after a year of distance learning and a wonderful summer of fun is no easy task - especially for a rising 2nd grader having a hard time reading. But Lauren was able to shift the jitters to joy! After a week with Lauren, my son had gained literacy skills, increased math knowledge, was more confident, and excited to return! And an even bigger bonus, was his proclamation that, "Lauren is literally the nicest person [I've] ever met. Like, literally. Mom, do you know anyone nicer?" His fondness and connection to her lasted well beyond that week, and her name continues to surface in our home. When he was going through a rough patch at school this winter, his first idea was to talk to Lauren. "She just makes me feel better." What a gift she is to young learners - their mind, their hearts, and their souls. I feel pure gratitude for her coming into our lives and trust / hope to be connected for many years to come."

Teachers say,

“Through our program, Lauren has run many social/emotional learning groups at all age levels. She is incredibly thoughtful about her planning for the groups. She collaborates with interns and staff to understand the needs and the dynamics of each group. She has a vast toolkit of activities and resources to pull from. She has a depth of knowledge about child development and social emotional learning. She evaluates the individual and group needs as the group progresses and she pivots and provides flexibility when needed.”

“Lauren has a joyful presence and she connects easily with both children and staff. She finds a balance of being fun and outgoing, listening intently, and also providing the structure needed for the groups to run smoothly. She is also approachable and always open to feedback.”
